A great freelance writing opportunity at an early-stage, well-funded insurtech startup run by seasoned founders, backed by A-list investors, and chasing a $250B global market. This position reports to the Senior Digital Content Specialist.
As we build our blog into a true industry resource, we’re looking for the right candidate to craft compelling, informative content with the ultimate goal of generating, nurturing, and converting leads. The ideal candidate will have experience crafting engaging digital content that demystifies a somewhat confusing topic (i.e. insurance) and makes it accessible to the average consumer.
You will write 6-8 articles per month for the Verifly blog, ranging from 900-2,000 words depending on the subject.
The two types of content you will be creating:
1) Insurance Explainers
- 1,000-2,000 words
- 900-1,500 words
For each article, you will be provided with a brief that includes:
- Article title/topic
- Short summary and proposed sections
- Target keywords
- Resources to reference
- Verifly backlinks to include
Submitted articles should include:
- Suggested URL/slug
- Two images (tile & header)
- Italicized standfirst/teaser copy
- Section headers
- At least 3 backlinks to key landing pages
- Proposed social posts: 2 Twitter, 1 Facebook, 1 Linkedin
You should have a portfolio of B2B/B2B2C writing samples to share. Experience writing for the insurance industry or other technical fields a plus. The successful applicant will be open to receiving feedback, adopting our specific brand tone (and adapting accordingly as we refine our voice!), and integrating SEO elements into your writing. The candidate must be detail-oriented and a stickler for deadlines. Bonus points for those with knowledge of SEO and content marketing best practices.
